Produced by Thy Majestie , mixed and recorded by Claudio Diprima
at Circle of Power
Studios. Perpetual Glory is the first "official" demo-Cd of Thy Majestie ; before P.G. the band released a 3-track demo entitled "Sword , Shield and Crown" with two studio tracks and one live version of "Facing the Beast" . The quality of the demo was very bad but some Italian magazines like Metal Shock decided to give Thy Majestie a chance and so they received a good review .It was June 1998: even though Thy Majestie were at the beginning and without experience they received some offers from a few little local labels . They decided to record a whole album and when all the compositions were ready they began to record them . The first problem was money : they didn't have enough money to record the demo in a "professional" studio , but Claudio had a PC and he suggested to record the tracks in the PC using it like a multitrack recorder. Claudio had some audio software (reverbs , delay etc.) but he wasn't experienced in using them. Claudio used some "non-professional" microphones to record all the tracks, but unfortunately for a terrible mistake Claudio deleted all the tracks from his Pc ! One month of hard work was wasted ! They didn't loose hope and they recorded the demo again and after a lot of work they finished it in March 1999 . If you are interested in buying it we have to inform you that the sound quality is not the best on earth ! By the way for the front cover we chose a fantasy image that Claudio found in a CD-Rom. Then we went to the castle of Erice and we took photos for the back-cover . That was when it was sent to Italian magazines and labels . Fortunately the reviewers didn't mind the sound quality ! The demo received very good reviews in all Italian magazines and fanzines (Top Demo in Metal Hammer , May 1999) . Thy Majestie was noticed by some good Italian labels and received interesting offers; they chose Scarlet records , a label known mainly for Death and Black Metal releases ; but Thy Majestie considered Scarlet a very good label so in August 1999 they signed a contract for two albums with them . |
